Cancer

Cannabis has demonstrated intriguing potential in exhibiting anti-cancer and anti-tumor properties, primarily attributed to its active compounds, such as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). Research suggests that these cannabinoids may interfere with cancer cell growth, proliferation, and spread through various mechanisms. THC, for instance, has shown promise in inducing apoptosis (cell death) in certain cancer cells and impeding tumor growth by disrupting cell multiplication. CBD, on the other hand, exhibits anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects, potentially reducing the inflammation that supports cancer progression and preventing the spread of cancer cells. Some studies indicate that cannabis-based compounds could be particularly effective in alleviating symptoms related to cancer treatment, such as pain, nausea, and loss of appetite.
